Pupil's Forum - September 11th The September 11th attacks will forever be remembered in peoples minds. Just as some of you may remember where you were when Ireland beat Italy in World Cup '94, (or if you're old enough, where you were when JFK was assassinated in Dallas), people will always remember where they were when news of the attacks on the World Trade Centre and the pentagon broke. For me, it was while sitting in my Business class in school. The teacher quickly told us about the unbelievable events unfolding on the other side of the world. The news fascinated and shocked most students. As the days passed, students seemed to realise the impact this would have on their lives. We have heard of the jobs cuts in many businesses (especially Aer Lingus) and the senior students amongst us wondered if this would drastically affect our chances of getting a decent job in the future. Currently as a result of the attacks, some of the poorest people in the world, i.e. Afghanistan, are suffering as a result of the Americans seeking revenge. We must also think of these people as they head into the cold winter months . . .
