The following article appeared in the Leinster Express on May 9th, 2007:

New gym officially launched at St. Paul's.

After waiting the best part seven years for a new gym, the students and teachers of St Paul's Secondary School, Monasterevin officially unveiled their new facility on Saturday.
The gym can now cater for a wide range of sports, such as basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, tennis and badminton. Funding for the gym was provided by the Department of Education.
The gym was opened by Fr O'Sullivan, former Parish Priest of Monasterevin, and Noel Maher, former Principal of the school.

The new building is dedicated to the memory of the late Tom Collins, a former teacher in the school, who had been instrumental in having the original gym built in the eighties. Tom was very active on the basketball scene in Secondary Schools in Ireland, and also has a competition named after him.
