In 98/99 for the first time in many years the school competed only in the Cross-country to the exclusion of all track and field events. In the South Leinster Cross Country Championships consisting of six counties . Thomas Bannon 2nd out of a 150 runners in the minor event. In the junior race Shane Molloy raced away from an equally large field in the last 400 metres to win the gold medal. Dean Dempsey finished 4th and the team were also going well for the 1st place except that only five of six members completed the course. Our girls team finished roughly half way down the field.

In March 2005 Amy Burtensham and Joanne Kelly participated in The President's Award. They earned their Bronze award  by taking part in a hike in the Wicklow Mountains over 25 kms.

Pictured below are the two award winners and their P.E. teacher Paul Marron.
